Understand yourself. Make sense of complexity. Choose what comes next.
When your experiences don't fit neatly into a box, you deserve more than another label.
The way we think, feel, behave and experience our bodies is shaped by a complex interaction between our biology, nervous system, relationships, experiences and environment.
Sometimes the patterns that once helped us cope continue long after they are needed.
I work with people who want to understand those patterns, make meaningful changes and develop greater choice in how they live.

A different way of understanding yourself
When the usual explanations don't seem to fit
You may have spent a long time trying to understand why you think, feel or behave the way you do.
Perhaps you've been given a diagnosis but it doesn't seem to explain everything.
Perhaps you've experienced trauma, dissociation, overwhelming emotions or persistent physical symptoms that don't have a straightforward explanation.
Perhaps you understand what you should do, but knowing isn't translating into change.
Or perhaps you've simply reached a point where you want to understand yourself better and do things differently.
Whatever brings you here, I don't believe you need to fit yourself into a predetermined box before we can start.
The person comes first. The model comes second.
I start with curiosity.
You are much more than a diagnosis
A diagnosis can be useful. It can provide language, access to support and a framework for understanding difficulties.
But a diagnosis rarely explains everything.
Two people can have the same diagnosis and completely different histories, relationships, nervous systems, strengths, adaptations and needs.
That's why I look beyond the label.
Together, we can explore what has shaped you, what keeps particular patterns going, what your experiences might be communicating and what could change.
The aim isn't simply to manage symptoms.
It's to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, create new possibilities and have more choice about what happens next.
What I work with
I work with a range of psychological, emotional, behavioural and physical experiences.
Complex trauma
The effects of prolonged or repeated trauma can continue long after the original experiences have ended.
We can explore how trauma may have shaped your emotions, relationships, behaviour, sense of self and responses to the world around you.
Dissociation
Dissociation can affect your sense of identity, memory, emotions, body or connection with the world.
Understanding dissociation often means understanding what your mind has learned to do to manage experiences that were difficult to process.
ADHD and Neurodivergence
ADHD and Neurodivergence can affect much more than attention.
We can explore difficulties with motivation, emotional regulation, overwhelm, organisation, impulsivity, relationships and turning intentions into action.
Persistent physical symptoms
Pain, fatigue, dizziness, brain fog and other physical symptoms can be real and disabling even when medical investigations don't provide a complete explanation.
I work with the relationship between physical symptoms, psychological experience, the brain and the nervous system without assuming that symptoms are "all in your head".
Functional neurological symptoms
FND and other functional neurological symptoms can be confusing and frightening, particularly when you don't understand why they are happening.
The aim is to develop a coherent understanding of your symptoms and explore what may help.
PTSD and trauma-related difficulties
Traumatic experiences can continue to affect the present through memories, emotions, physical responses, avoidance, hypervigilance and changes in how you relate to yourself and other people.
How I work
I don't believe in choosing a treatment model first and then trying to make the person fit it.
Instead, I use psychological formulation to develop an understanding of what is happening for you and why.
Depending on what you need, our work may draw on:
- Psychological therapy and stabilisation
- EMDR
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Psychoeducation
- Neuroscience-informed approaches
- Psychological formulation
- Coaching and practical behaviour change
We don't have to decide everything at the beginning.
The work may involve stabilising and creating safety, understanding what has happened, processing difficult experiences, developing new ways of responding and integrating what you've learned.
The process won't necessarily follow those stages neatly, and not everyone needs every stage.
The approach should follow the person.
Not everyone who wants to make changes needs therapy.
Sometimes you need space to understand a pattern, work out what is getting in the way and turn insight into practical action.
That's where neuroscience-informed coaching may be helpful.
Coaching can support areas such as:
- Understanding how you work
- Neurodivergence strategies and executive functioning
- Emotional regulation
- Behaviour change
- Psychological flexibility
- Decision-making
- Goals and direction
- Turning insight into action
Coaching is different from therapy and isn't suitable for every situation.
If you are experiencing significant psychological distress, active trauma symptoms, significant dissociation or difficulties requiring clinical treatment, therapy or another form of professional support may be more appropriate.
Sometimes you need therapy. Sometimes you need something different.
Experience that goes beyond the therapy room
My approach is also shaped by extensive experience working in Liaison Psychiatry.
I have worked with people at some of the most difficult and uncertain points in their lives, including people experiencing acute psychological distress, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, severe emotional dysregulation and complex mental and physical health difficulties.
Working in crisis and liaison settings has taught me the importance of looking beyond the immediate presentation.
A person arriving in crisis is rarely just a crisis.
There is always a wider story: what has happened to them, what they have learned to do to survive, what is happening in their relationships, how their physical health and psychological health interact, and what has brought them to this point.
My experience in Liaison Psychiatry has also given me a particular understanding of the relationship between mental and physical health, including presentations where symptoms don't fit neatly into conventional diagnostic categories.
This informs the way I work now.
I bring the ability to think about risk and complexity alongside the longer-term work of understanding patterns, processing difficult experiences and creating meaningful change.
You don't have to be in crisis for this experience to be useful.
It means that when things are complicated, overwhelming or difficult to make sense of, I am comfortable working with the complexity rather than needing to reduce it to a simple explanation.
The aim is not just to understand what is happening now. It is to understand how you got here, what can change, and what you want to do next.
Specialist experience.
Accessible support.
Private therapy can be expensive.
I have deliberately set my standard fee at £60 for a 50-minute session.
This reflects the time, experience, training and professional responsibility involved in the work, while keeping cost from becoming an unnecessary barrier to accessing specialist support.
I am not trying to build a practice around maximising the number of sessions people have.
The aim is to help you understand yourself, create possibilities for change and develop greater choice about your life.
Therapy: £60 / 50 minutes
Coaching: £60 / 50 minutes
You don't have to know exactly what's wrong
You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis.
You don't need to know whether you need EMDR, ACT, therapy or coaching.
And you don't need to have everything worked out before you get in touch.
You can simply tell me what is happening, what you've been struggling with and what you'd like to be different.
From there, we can work out whether I am the right person to help and what kind of support would make sense.
Understand what has shaped you.
Create possibilities for change.
Choose what comes next.
